Chhattisgarh Becomes India’s Growth Engine-By- Chhagan Lonhare , Deputy Director(P R)

A new environment of development, trust, and security has been created in the state. Maoist terrorism has always been a hindrance to the state’s progress. Now, this obstacle is about to be removed. Maoism is now on its last legs.

Raipur: In line with the vision of a developed India and a developed Chhattisgarh, The state is not only swiftly developing infrastructure, but also achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. In the past two years, Chhattisgarh has also rapidly established itself as India’s growth engine.

The state’s new industrial policy provides special packages for new sectors such as defense, IT, AI, and green energy. Investment proposals worth ₹7.69 lakh crore have been received so far. A new environment of development, trust, and security has been created in the state. Maoist terrorism has always been a hindrance to the state’s progress. Now, this obstacle is about to be removed. Maoism is now on its last legs.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh is rapidly progressing towards good governance, transparency, and accountability. The state government has established the Department of Good Governance and Convergence to strengthen administrative processes and ensure results-oriented governance.

To ensure discipline and timeliness in governance, a biometric attendance system has been implemented for officials at the Mahanadi Bhawan, Mantralaya, effective December 1, 2025, reinforcing the work culture and accountability.

A highly prestigious moment in the state’s democratic history was the inauguration of Chhattisgarh’s new, magnificent Assembly building in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Assembly building symbolises new energy, new thinking, and the resolve for a developed Chhattisgarh.

In the last two years, several new projects, including road, rail, health, and communication, have been initiated to address the backwardness of the Bastar and Surguja regions. The new industrial policy has given tourism industry status. Efforts are being made to enhance tourism facilities in Bastar. For the purpose, a home away from a home policy and special provisions for eco-tourism have been made.

Special facilities, exemptions, and concessions are being provided for the establishment of industries in the Bastar and Surguja regions. Additionally, affordable land is being provided to industries under a special package.

Under the Niyed Nella Nar scheme, 69 security camps established in areas affected by Maoist terrorism are providing basic amenities as well as benefits from central and state government welfare schemes. Major events like the Bastar Olympics and Bastar Pandum have played a significant role in highlighting the changing climate of Bastar.

Bastar’s youth now want to be involved in development, as evidenced by the skill development programs being implemented here. To advance Bastar’s youth in every field and connect them with employment, skill development training is being provided in areas such as tourism, automobiles, piloting, and IT sectors. .

To achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, programs launched for socio-economic mobility are being effectively implemented in the state. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, clean drinking water is being provided to 40 lakh households.

Similarly, PM Awas Yojana (PMAY) has been approved for over 26 lakh families. To empower women economically and enhance their role in society, more than 70 lakh women are receiving an amount of ₹. 1,000 each in their bank accounts under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana. Approximately Rs. 14,000 crore has been released under this scheme. 98 percent of the state’s population has been covered under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

In Chhattisgarh, paddy production and procurement at the support price are key pillars of the rural economy. Under Modi’s guarantee to ensure farmers a better price for their produce, farmers are being paid the highest price for paddy in the country. Paddy is being successfully procured at more than 2,300 procurement centers in the state.

Farmers are being paid a price of 21 quintals per acre and ₹ 3,100 per quintal. As a result of farmer-friendly decisions, more than ₹ 1 lakh crore has been transferred to the accounts of farmers in Chhattisgarh. Farmers are investing this money lavishly in agriculture, and this has also buoyed markets, directly impacting the urban economy. Sales of tractors and other goods have reached record heights.
