Raipur : A one-day workshop on vulture conservation was organised at Aranya Bhawan in Nava Raipur in the capital. Various vulture conservation experts, environmentalists as well as researchers, students and forest department officers and employees participated in this program. The chief guest of the program was Prem Kumar, special guest Arun Kumar Pandey and other officials were present.
All the officials who came discussed the falling number of vultures and measures for their conservation and the restoration of White Ramped Vulture in Bar Navapara Sanctuary. During this, many important announcements were made. Establishment of Vulture Safe Zone and Vulture Restaurant, ban on harmful chemicals in coordination with Veterinary and Drug Control Department. Satellite telemetry and geotagging for monitoring vultures. Awareness campaign in schools and colleges. Experts from WWF, BNHS, SAVE, SACON, and Bird Count India participated in the panel.
Manish Kumar Ahir from Eco Club Government Higher Secondary School Bade Murma Jagdalpur participated in this seminar and there was a discussion on including Eco Club of schools in the action plan of vulture conservation. Bade Murma Eco Club is continuously working on various issues of environmental conservation with its action plan and is playing an important role in environmental conservation.
