Chhattisgarh Govt Committed to Safety, Respect and Empowerment of Women: CM Vishnu Deo Sai

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, CM Sai flags off ‘Jashpur Express’; Gifts e-rickshaws to 12 Bihan Didis

Raipur: On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai flagged off the ‘Jashpur Express’ from his native village Bagiya in Jashpur district and gifted e-rickshaws to 12 women associated with the Bihan scheme as a special Rakhi gift.

CM Sai also took a ride in one of the e-rickshaws, operated by Self-Help Group member Gilsonika Pande, within the Bagiya residence premises.

CM Sai said the e-rickshaws are not only eco-friendly but also have low operating costs. “These will enable women to participate in local transport services, become self-reliant, and meet their family needs more effectively,” he said, extending Raksha Bandhan greetings and reaffirming that his government is fully committed to the safety and support of all sisters in Chhattisgarh. “This e-rickshaw distribution is aimed at empowering and making Self-Help Group women self-sufficient,” he added.

Highlighting the government’s rapid implementation of Modi ki Guarantee, CM Sai said that work on 18 lakh houses sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is progressing rapidly. Under the Awas ++ scheme, benefits will also be extended to eligible families with 5 acres of unirrigated land, 2.50 acres of irrigated land, a two-wheeler, and monthly income of ₹15,000.

He further stated that under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, 70 lakh women are being given ₹1,000 per month. To boost incomes of tendu leaf collectors, the support price has been increased to ₹5,500 per standard bag. To provide banking facilities in villages, Atal Digital Seva Kendras are being set up, which will be launched in all gram panchayats on the upcoming Panchayat Day.

CM Sai also said that under the 10 New Revolutions in registry services, the registration process has been made more transparent, simple, digital, and citizen-centric. In remote and inaccessible areas, bus services have been started under the Mukhyamantri Gramin Bus Yojana. For expansion of health facilities in the district, a medical college, naturopathy and physiotherapy centre, government nursing college, and government physiotherapy college will be opened.

It was informed during the programme that women operators will run the e-rickshaws on various routes in the district. In Farsabahar, Pratima Bhagat will operate on the Farsabahar–Kandaibahar–Amdiha–Tapkara route; Madanwati on the Lawakera–Amdiha–Purainbandh–Samadma–Tapkara route; Rajkumari Painkra on the Tapkara–Kandaibahar–Tuba–Farsabahar route; and Urmila Bhagat on the Khutgaon–Singibahar–Sajbahar–Tapkara route.

In Duldula, Bindeshwari Devi will operate on the Kosa–Duldula–Vipatpur–Cherdand route; Parvati Sai on the Kosa–Duldula–Patratoli–Loro–Bamhani route; Sangeeta Devi on the Cherdand–Loro–Bamhani–Kastura route; and Bimla Devi on the Cherdand–Duldula–Loro–Patratoli route.

In Kansabel, Gilsonika Pande will operate on the Tangargaon–Hathgadha–Kansabel route; Tiaso Pankra on the Bansbahar–Dokda–Pusra–Khuntitoli–Kansabel route; Neeta Rawani on the Katangakhar–Dokda–Bandarchhua–Kansabel route; and Angawati Bai on the Dewari–Dokda–Chhatabar–Kansabel route.

Commissioner Narendra Dugga, IG Deepak Kumar Jha, District Panchayat CEO Abhishek Kumar, Deputy Collector Sameer Bada, Upendra Yadav, Ganesh Jain and Ravi Yadav were present on the occasion.
