Raipur: An important meeting was held on Wednesday March 11, 2026 at the Ministry’s Mahanadi Bhawan to review the availability and supply of domestic LPG gas and diesel-petrol in Chhattisgarh. Reena Babasaheb Kangale, Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Department, met with officials from all oil companies and conducted a detailed review of the availability and supply of domestic LPG gas and diesel-petrol in the state.

It was informed in the meeting that all five LPG bottling plants operating in the state have sufficient stocks of LPG gas, and domestic gas supply is continuing normally. On this occasion, officials from the Food and Oil Companies were instructed to regularly monitor the daily supply and distribution of LPG gas in the state, ensuring no inconvenience to the consumers.

Oil company officials informed the meeting that commercial LPG cylinders are currently being supplied only to critically important organisations, such as hospitals and educational institutions. In response, Food Secretary Reena Babasaheb Kangale directed that since students’ examinations are currently underway, the supply of gas cylinders to educational institutions and hostels should be ensured.

During the meeting, Secretary Kangale stated that, based on the current circumstances, consideration should be given to providing 15 percent of commercial supplies to hotels, so that limited supplies can also be ensured to establishments providing essential services. Strict instructions were also issued to prevent misuse of LPG gas and illegal refilling in the districts.

In this regard, district administrations have been directed to take strict action under the Essential Commodities Act to prevent any irregularities or black marketing.

The meeting also reviewed the availability of diesel, petrol, and CNG gas in the state. Oil company officials stated that all three diesel and petrol depots in the state have adequate stocks. Following this, the Director of Food and Oil Company officials were instructed to regularly monitor the daily supply and distribution of diesel and petrol.

Food Secretary Kangale assured the consumers of the state that there is sufficient availability of LPG gas and diesel-petrol in the state and there is no shortage or shortage of these petroleum products.

She clarified that gas cylinders are being supplied to consumers through gas agencies as per the rules and regularly. She said that for any kind of complaint or information related to the supply, consumers can contact the toll free call center number 1800-233-3663.
