State Pavilion Bags ‘Best Decoration of Stall & Appearance’ Award, Showcasing Chhattisgarh’s Cultural and Tourism Excellence

Raipur: Chhattisgarh has added another feather to its tourism cap by winning the prestigious “Best Decoration of Stall & Appearance” award at the Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) Kolkata 2026, one of India’s largest travel trade exhibitions. Competing with 21 participating states, the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board’s creatively designed pavilion stood out for its vibrant presentation of the state’s tribal heritage, breathtaking landscapes, spiritual destinations, and eco-tourism offerings.

The recognition marks another significant milestone in Chhattisgarh’s journey towards establishing itself as one of India’s fastest-emerging tourism destinations.

Held from July 10 to 12 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata, the three-day event attracted tourism professionals, investors, travel operators, hospitality brands, and government representatives from across the country and abroad. Throughout the exhibition, the Chhattisgarh pavilion remained one of the busiest attractions, drawing visitors eager to explore the state’s unique blend of nature, culture, and adventure.

A Pavilion That Told the Story of Chhattisgarh

The award-winning pavilion presented a compelling visual narrative of the state through immersive displays highlighting:

  • Bastar’s vibrant tribal traditions and handicrafts
  • Chitrakote and Tirathgarh waterfalls
  • Kanger Valley National Park
  • Sirpur’s Buddhist heritage
  • Bhoramdeo Temple
  • Eco-tourism destinations
  • Spiritual tourism circuits
  • Luxury tourism resorts and emerging destinations

The innovative design successfully combined traditional aesthetics with modern exhibition techniques, earning widespread appreciation from tourism experts and visitors alike.

Tourism Beyond Promotion: Building Business Partnerships

Beyond showcasing destinations, the event served as an important platform for strengthening tourism business. During the fair, Tourism Board Chairman Neelu Sharma, Tourism Secretary S. Bharathidasan, and Managing Director Vivek Acharya held several high-level B2B meetings with domestic and international tour operators, travel agencies, hotel chains, and tourism investors.

The discussions focused on:

  • Tourism investments
  • Joint destination marketing
  • Integrated travel packages
  • Hospitality collaborations
  • Promotion of Chhattisgarh in new tourism markets
  • Increasing domestic and international tourist arrivals

Officials believe these engagements will pave the way for fresh investments and stronger public-private partnerships in the state’s tourism sector.

Strong Industry Participation

The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board was joined by nearly 28 registered tour operators, hotel owners, homestay operators, and tourism entrepreneurs, enabling local stakeholders to directly engage with India’s travel industry and expand their commercial networks.

Distinguished Visitors Applaud Chhattisgarh Pavilion

The pavilion received visits from several prominent dignitaries during the exhibition, including:

  • Goa Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte
  • Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj
  • West Bengal Tourism Minister Dr. Shankar Ghosh
  • Thailand’s Consul General Siriporn Tantipanyathep

The visiting dignitaries appreciated Chhattisgarh’s rich natural beauty, tribal traditions, spiritual heritage, and growing tourism infrastructure, describing the state as one of India’s promising emerging travel destinations.

Leadership Speaks

Tourism Board Chairman Neelu Sharma said the recognition reflects the vision of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Tourism & Culture Minister Rajesh Agrawal, whose focus on tourism promotion has helped place Chhattisgarh prominently on the national tourism map.

Tourism Secretary S. Bharathidasan emphasised that the government views tourism as a key driver of economic growth, employment generation, and cultural preservation. He expressed confidence that stronger participation in national and international tourism events would attract greater investment and boost visitor numbers.

Managing Director Vivek Acharya credited the achievement to the collective efforts of the Tourism Board, industry stakeholders, and tourism entrepreneurs, stating that the award would further accelerate the state’s mission of becoming one of India’s leading tourism destinations.

A National Recognition with Long-Term Impact

The award is more than a design accolade—it reflects Chhattisgarh’s growing confidence in presenting itself as a complete tourism destination. By blending its rich tribal traditions, spectacular natural landscapes, ancient heritage, and expanding tourism infrastructure, the state is steadily positioning itself on India’s tourism investment map.

With stronger industry collaborations, increasing investor interest, and continued government support, Chhattisgarh appears well on course to transform its tourism potential into a powerful engine of economic growth, employment generation, and cultural promotion.
