This is the whole matter
The statue of Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha Empire, was unveiled by PM Narendra Modi on the occasion of Navy Day last year. The statue unveiled on 4 December 2023 collapsed just 8 months later on the afternoon of August 26 . The opposition party had criticized the Maharashtra government over the incident.
Officials have claimed that the statue collapsed due to winds blowing at a speed of 45 kilometers per hour, whereas according to the Bureau of Indian Standards, about 3 times more wind speed is also taken into account while designing a structure.
