No more inconvenience to passengers during VVIP movements at airport
Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday November 10, 2025 inaugurated the regular operations of the State Hangar located near the Swami Vivekananda Airport at Mana Camp. Following the inauguration, the Chief Minister departed for his official visit to Gujarat from the same hangar.
The move will also help reduce inconvenience to regular passengers at the airport’s main terminal during VVIP movements. The commissioning of the State Hangar is expected to make VVIP flight arrivals and departures smoother and more organized in Chhattisgarh.
Constructed in 2012 by the Public Works Department (PWD) at a cost of approximately ₹6.5 crore, the required approvals from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) were finally obtained on October 31, 2025, paving the way for regular use.
The newly commissioned hangar is connected to the airport’s main runway through Taxiway E, ensuring seamless VVIP movements without the need for separate arrangements within the airport.
The facility will also serve as the maintenance base for the state-owned aircraft and helicopters, ending the government’s dependence on rented hangar space within the airport premises.
Present at the inauguration were MLA Motilal Sahu, Mana Camp Nagar Panchayat President Sanjay Yadav, Secretary to Chief Minister, Rahul Bhagat; Deputy Secretary Suraj Sahu, along with other public representatives and senior officials.
