Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the sacred consecration (Pran-Pratishtha) ceremony of Neelkantheshwar Mahadev Temple at the Sirimkela village in the Duldula development block of Jashpur district on Saturday February 14, 2026 .

He performed traditional rituals and offered prayers to Lord Mahadev, seeking happiness, prosperity and well-being for all citizens of Chhattisgarh. Held a day before the auspicious festival of Maha Shivratri, the ceremony symbolised “faith, devotion and cultural pride” rooted in Sanatan tradition.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced the construction of a community hall in Sirimkela. He said the facility would provide a strong platform for social, cultural and family functions.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister extended his heartfelt greetings for Maha Shivratri. He said that being among devotees and local residents in Sirimkela brought him deep spiritual peace and joy. Emphasising the importance of preserving traditions, he stated that the state government is committed to restoring Sanatan heritage through initiatives such as the Ayodhya Dham Darshan Yojana and the Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana. Inspired by the ideals of Shravan Kumar, the government has so far facilitated pilgrimage for more than 42,000 devotees to have darshan of Shri Ram Lala.

The Chief Minister noted that after a wait of 500 years, the grand temple of Shri Ram Lala has been completed in Ayodhya Dham under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The sacred flag now flies atop the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, marking a historic moment of fulfilment for millions of devotees.

He said the unwavering faith of Ram bhakts over five centuries reflects an “eternal spiritual resolve” that never diminished. He added that all are merely instruments blessed with the opportunity to witness and facilitate darshan in the grand temple.

Expressing his gratitude after offering prayers at Neelkantheshwar Mahadev, the Chief Minister said he felt truly fortunate. He mentioned that the darshan of Neelkanth on Dussehra is considered highly auspicious. After the consecration ceremony, continuous darshan at the temple will be a matter of pride for the region. He also referred to Madheshwar Mahadev in Jashpur, believed locally to be Asia’s largest natural Shivling, underscoring the district’s deep spiritual heritage. He said that devotion holds special importance in the Sanatan tradition, and that the state government honours the sentiments of devotees. During the holy month of Shravan, floral showers are offered to Kanwariyas at the Bhoramdeo Temple.

Highlighting ongoing religious and cultural events, the Chief Minister stated that the grand Rajim Kumbh Kalp is currently underway at the Rajim Triveni Sangam, known as the Prayag of Chhattisgarh, where faith and culture converge magnificently.

He urged devotees to seek the blessings of Bhagwan Kuleshwar Nath Mahadev on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri. He emphasised that the government remains committed to preserving cultural and religious heritage. The prestige of Rajim Kumbh Kalp has been restored, the historic Bastar Dussehra has gained national and international recognition, and a structured development plan is being implemented for the state’s five Shakti Peeths.

During the programme, the Chief Minister also planted saplings within the temple premises, conveying a message of environmental conservation. He remarked that spirituality and environmental protection are complementary.

Concluding the event, he prayed that the blessings of Neelkantheshwar Mahadev remain upon all, bringing peace, prosperity and new avenues of development to the state. He expressed hope that Chhattisgarh would continue to advance on the path of progress with strengthened spiritual consciousness and cultural grandeur.
