Raipur: A significant step has been taken towards establishing Jashpur district as a premier eco-tourism destination. In a program held on Sunday January 25, 2026 at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office in Bagicha, an MoU was signed between Homestays of India, a leading homestay platform in India, the Government of Chhattisgarh, and the Jashpur District Administration, in the presence of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.

Under this agreement, Kere village will be developed as a model community tourism village. On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated the homestay established in Kere village.

The MoU aims to create Jashpur’s first organised homestay village. It will establish a well-structured and scalable homestay-based rural tourism ecosystem. This initiative will ensure the active participation of local families, strengthen sustainable livelihoods, and promote entrepreneurship among youth and women through capacity building and skill development.

The core objective of this project is to conserve and promote local culture, traditions, and natural heritage, ensuring that tourism development remains inclusive, community-owned, and environmentally sustainable, while preserving the region’s cultural identity.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Sai by Collector Jashpur Rohit Vyas, Chief Executive Officer Vinod Verma, and representatives of Homestays of India Pvt. Ltd.

Officials stated that this initiative aligns with the state government’s vision of eco-tourism, inclusive development, and community-led economic growth. Through authentic tourism experiences based on local culture and nature, this project will strengthen Jashpur’s identity and help establish it on the national tourism map.
