Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai takes a tough stand against illegal opium cultivation

  • All Collectors directed to conduct surveys and submit report with certification within 15 days

Raipur: Following reports of illegal opium cultivation in the state, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has taken a strict stand and directed all district collectors to conduct a comprehensive survey of potential areas in their respective districts.

The Chief Minister clearly stated that it must be ensured that illegal cultivation of opium is not taking place in any part of the state. He has instructed the collectors to submit a detailed investigation report to the government within 15 days, along with a certificate confirming the findings.

Chief Minister Sai said the state government is working with a zero-tolerance policy towards the production and trade of illegal narcotic substances. He added that strict action will be taken against those found involved in such activities.

In compliance with the Chief Minister’s directions, the Commissioner of Land Records has issued a letter to all district collectors directing them to conduct the survey and submit the investigation report along with a certificate stating that no opium cultivation is being carried out in their respective districts.
