Raipur: A new initiative has been taken to spread awareness about the rights of children in Chhattisgarh. State Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday June 17, 2025 launched two new campaigns named ‘Sarthak’ and ‘Rakshak’ at Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in the capital Raipur.

The program was organised on the occasion of the 15th foundation day of Chhattisgarh State Child Rights Protection Commission. The Chief Minister said on the occasion that it is very important to inform children about their rights, especially in remote areas, where there is lack of awareness.

The Chief Minister said that in areas like Bastar and Surguja, many children go out in search of work at an early age and many times become victims of exploitation. He said that it is the responsibility of the Commission to identify such children and connect them with government schemes so that they can get a secure future.

He also said that the government is running many schemes related to education, employment and development for children and youth. Schools, colleges and coaching facilities are being provided in every village. Projects like ‘Prayas’, ‘Nalanda Campus’ and Delhi-based ‘Tribal Youth Hostel’ are opening new opportunities for the youth.

Commission Chairperson Varnika Sharma said that ‘Sarthak Abhiyan’ will inform the general public about the rights of children, while ‘Rakshak Abhiyan’ is specially meant to inform college and university students about the laws related to children.

Policemen, Anganwadi workers and girl students working for the welfare of children were also felicitated at the function. On this occasion, some special books prepared by the Commission were also released. In these books, topics like ‘good touch, bad touch’, ‘human trafficking’ and ‘right to education’ have been explained through cartoons.

MLA Sunil Soni, Purandar Mishra, Guru Khuswant Saheb, Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Sanjay Srivastava, Wakf Board Chairman Dr. Salim Raj and many other public representatives and social workers were present at the program.
