Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has paid tribute to the sacrifice of brave forest workers and environmental protectors on the occasion of National Forest Martyrs Day. Paying his tribute to the forest martyrs, Sai said that National Forest Martyrs Day is celebrated every year on 11 September in the memory of brave forest workers and environmental protectors who sacrificed their lives to protect forests and wildlife. The main objective of this day is to make people aware about environmental protection.
CM Sai said that the National Forest Martyrs Day was started by the Bishnoi community of Rajasthan to honor the legacy of those who sacrificed their lives to protest against the felling of trees and were martyred for environmental protection. CM also said that this day is to honor the courage and sacrifice of those forest workers who were martyred without caring for their lives to protect forests and wildlife.
This day inspires to become responsible citizens towards environmental protection, so that the heritage of nature can be preserved for the coming generations.
