Congress towards ‘self-reliance’! Eyes on the 2027 contest, looking for ground for itself in UP, at the same time keeps an eye on SP’s vote bank too

Uttar Pradesh Congress has started preparations for the Assembly Elections 2027. After holding meetings in 25 districts, the organization general secretary has now instructed the workers to start preparing. It is also believed that Congress wants to strengthen its position in comparison to the alliance with SP in the Lok Sabha elections. Congress fought the Lok Sabha elections in an organised manner with the support of SP, but now the party wants to stand on its own in UP.

According to the information received from Congress, 403 seats of UP have been placed in three categories. The first category has 175 seats of 25 districts. For which organization general secretary Anil Yadav is continuously visiting the areas. Congress had an alliance with Samajwadi Party in the Lok Sabha elections, so votes were also transferred to the party. But now Congress wants to become self-reliant in UP. That is, it also wants to strengthen its position in the state.

Seats divided in three categories

403 assembly seats of the state have been placed in three categories. In which Congress has already assessed 25 districts. This is being done so that when the time of elections comes and there is talk of alliance with Samajwadi Party again, then pressure can be created regarding these seats. The strategy is that Congress should have a flag bearer on at least two assembly seats of every district.
