While the Aam Aadmi Party is engaged in the fight to gain power for the third time, the BJP-Congress are also struggling to capture the throne of Delhi. BJP has been out of power for more than 25 years. At the same time, Congress was in power for 15 years before the Aam Aadmi Party, but in the last two elections, the party has not managed to win a single seat.
13,766 polling booths have been set up for all 70 assembly seats in the national capital. 699 candidates are in the fray. 220 companies of paramilitary forces, 35,626 Delhi Police personnel and 19,000 home guards have been deployed to ensure voting. About 3,000 polling stations have been identified as sensitive, where strict security arrangements have been made. During the voting, the police team will also monitor with drones.
