Deoria DM IAS Divya Mittal: In a meeting of ministers, MPs and MLAs, Deoria District Magistrate Divya Mittal clearly said that no public representative has the right to put pressure on any officer for transfer-posting. This is decided only at the government level and there are clear rules for it. As soon as she said this, many officers clapped.

‘No public representative can force an officer for transfer, this is also a government order’ This is the clear message of Deoria District Magistrate Divya Mittal, which has now become a topic of discussion. In fact, the video of what the IAS officer said in the District Planning Committee (Disha) meeting is rapidly going viral on social media. In the video, the DM is clearly seen advising the public representatives not to unnecessarily interfere in matters like transfer-posting.

Public representatives of both the central and state governments were present in this meeting. It was chaired by BJP MP Shashank Mani Tripathi. Yogi government’s state minister Vijayalakshmi Gautam, BJP spokesperson and MLA Shalabh Mani Tripathi, BJP MLA Surendra Chaurasia, MLA Sabha Kunwar, SP MP Ramashankar Rajbhar (Salempur), MLC Devendra Pratap Singh, and officials of all departments of the district were present in the meeting.

Actually, the controversy started when Barhaj MLA Deepak Mishra questioned District Basic Education Officer (BSA) Shalini Srivastava during a meeting. He raised the issue of salary payment of a female teacher which was pending for months and also talked about stopping the transfer of a contract accountant of his area. The MLA alleged that the BSA did not take his words seriously, even though he requested several times. Not only this, when he sought an answer from the PWD officials on the non-construction of dilapidated roads in his area, the situation became more tense.

The matter escalated so much that the MLA left the meeting in the middle and went out. Other public representatives present in the meeting also expressed their opinion. One representative said that if the officers listen to the public representatives carefully and take timely decisions, then problems will not arise. At the same time, someone also said that if the pen does not get stuck, then the transfer should be done.

No one has any right

In response to this, DM Divya Mittal clearly said that no public representative has the right to put pressure on any officer for transfer-posting. This is decided only at the government level and there are clear rules for it. As soon as she said this, many officers sitting in the meeting room were seen clapping. This scene was captured on camera and now the same video is viral on social media.
