Raipur: Education is the only path to social progress and development. Our government is continuously working to strengthen school education and higher education. Our aim is to see young people from the Scheduled Tribe community of Chhattisgarh become collectors, superintendents of police, doctors, and engineers.

Chief Minister Sai was addressing the social convention of the Satgarh Kanwar community and the death anniversary celebrations of brave martyr Sitaram Kanwar, held in Katghora, Korba district on Thursday October 9,2025

Chief Minister Sai said that brave martyr Sitaram Kanwar is the pride of the community. On this occasion, he unveiled the statue of martyr Sitaram Kanwar, a freedom fighter of 1857, at Rampur Chowk. During the event, representatives of the community welcomed and congratulated Chief Minister Sai by presenting him with a bow and arrow. The Chief Minister also honored talented students who achieved excellent marks in board examinations.

At the event, Chief Minister Sai announced that ₹1 crore would be provided for the construction of a community hall for the Satgarh Kanwar community, along with a boundary wall. He also announced ₹10 lakh for the installation of a new statue of martyr Sitaram Kanwar at Rampur Chowk, ₹25 lakh for the installation of a statue of Lord Sahastrabahu and the construction of an entrance gate at Kasaniya Mor, and the construction of a hi-tech bus stand in Katghora.

Chief Minister Sai also performed the groundbreaking ceremony and foundation stone laying ceremony for the renaming of Bhagwan Sahastrabahu Chowk at Kasaniya Mor, the installation of the statue, and the construction of the Kalchuri welcome gate and garden.

Chief Minister Sai urged those present at the Kanwar community convention to educate their children for the development and upliftment of society, to keep youth away from drugs, and to take maximum advantage of the government’s public welfare schemes. He noted that excellent institutions for higher education have been established in the state—including medical colleges, AIIMS, IIITs, universities, and law colleges. He also extended his best wishes for the Silver Jubilee celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister Sai said that the fulfillment of the promises made to the people of Chhattisgarh by the country’s illustrious Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is progressing rapidly. 18 lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas were approved immediately after the formation of the government. Farmers are being procured 21 quintals of paddy per acre at a rate of ₹3100 per quintal. Under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, financial assistance of ₹1000 per month is being deposited into the accounts of 70 lakh women. Tendu leaves are being purchased from collectors at a rate of ₹5,500 per standard sack. The Charan Paduka scheme has been restarted.

The Chief Minister informed that under the Sri Ram Lalla Darshan scheme, thousands of devotees from the state are being provided with pilgrimages to Ayodhya every month at government expense. He said that within just 20 months of the government’s formation, more than 10,000 youth have been given government jobs. Five thousand teachers and over 700 assistant professors will soon be recruited. The Chief Minister stated that by making the new industrial policy employment-oriented, new doors of opportunity are being opened for the youth.

MLAs Premchand Patel and Tuleshwar Hira Singh Markam, District Panchayat President Dr. Pawan Singh Kanwar, Mayor Sanju Devi Rajput, Central President of the Kanwar community Chhatrapal Singh Kanwar, along with numerous public representatives and social members of the Kanwar community were present in large numbers at the event.
