Today, on Tuesday, a passenger plane of private airline Indigo had to make an emergency landing just 10 minutes after it took off from Maa Danteshwari Airport Jagdalpur for Raipur. There were 67 people on board the plane including 62 passengers and crew members.
A windshield of the cockpit broke
IndiGo flight 6E-7092 took off at 1:05 pm. The plane had not reached a very high altitude in the sky when a windshield of the cockpit broke. The pilot immediately informed the airport control room about the incident and asked for permission for an emergency landing. After which the pilot made a safe emergency landing of the plane.
No information was given immediately about the incident so that the passengers do not get frightened. The passengers were informed after the emergency landing of the plane. This is the first time that an emergency landing of a passenger plane had to be done at Maa Danteshwari Airport.
When talking to airport director Videsh Kumar Gupta, he said that the pilot came to know about the windshield breaking (cracking) soon after takeoff. On Wednesday October 16 , the company’s engineers will bring the windshield from Hyderabad and replace it. There are two windshields in front of the pilot in the cockpit of the plane. Let us inform you you that IndiGo is operating air service from Hyderabad to Jagdalpur and Jagdalpur to Raipur.
After the incident, the airline company sent some passengers to Raipur by road. Some passengers cancelled their tickets while some extended their travel date for Thursday October 17 .
