Raipur : An important meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM) constituted to make GST revenue collection more transparent, technology-enabled and effective across the country was held in the capital Delhi on Friday July 4, 2025 . In the meeting, Finance Minister of Chhattisgarh OP Choudhary shared the experience of the state and presented many important suggestions for strict action against bogus businessmen, use of modern technology in the registration process and prevention of fake input tax credit. This group is being coordinated by Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod P. Sawant.

The Finance Minister of Chhattisgarh OP Choudhary participated in the meeting as a member and shared the experience and policy suggestions of the state. The main objective of the meeting was to assess the challenges in revenue collection and find comprehensive solutions.
During the meeting, the Finance Ministers of various states of the country analysed in detail the economic and other factors affecting the GST revenue in their respective states. On the occasion, O P Chaudhary informed about the initiatives taken in the field of anti-evasion and compliance in Chhattisgarh.
The Chhattisgarh Finance Minister O.P. Chaudhary also informed that data analytics and artificial intelligence based tools are being used intensively in Chhattisgarh to prevent tax evasion and provide convenience to real taxpayers. He said that such efforts have made it possible to increase the state’s revenue significantly.
Presentations of state-of-the-art systems like BIFA, GST Prime and e-way bill portal were also made in the meeting. CG FM OP Chaudhary suggested that by implementing these innovations uniformly across the country, identification and action against bogus businessmen can be expedited.
The Finance Minister of Chhattisgarh particularly emphasised on the development of a centralised digital system for control of fake invoices, prevention of fake input tax credit, and transparency in the registration process. He said that these measures will not only increase revenue but will also increase the confidence of taxpayers.
The C G Finance Minister Choudhary also underlined in the meeting that regular review and data-based decision-making processes at the state level in the context of GST collection under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai have given positive results. He said that the experience of Chhattisgarh can become a useful model for other states.
In the meeting, Finance Minister OP Choudhary said that all the states should make joint efforts to ensure stability and growth in GST revenue collection. He expressed confidence that the GST Council will soon implement the measures suggested by the Group of Ministers. He said that this meeting will prove to be important for placing comprehensive reform proposals before the GST Council, which will give a new direction to tax administration and revenue collection in India.
