Bengaluru: Karnataka Lokayukta police has registered an FIR against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case. Sources told that Lokayukta police has registered an FIR against Siddaramaiah and others in the MUDA case. While giving the verdict on the petition of petitioner Snehamayi Krishna, the Jan Pratinidhi Court had given instructions to register an FIR against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
In its verdict, the court had directed the Karnataka Lokayukta to investigate the matter and submit a report within three months. After which today Mysuru Lokayukta police registered a case against the Chief Minister.
CM’s wife and brother-in-law also made accused
In this case, CM has been made accused number one, while his wife Parvati has been made accused number two. At the same time, the Chief Minister’s brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy has been made accused number 3 and Devraj has been made accused number 4.
The Chief Minister has been accused of misusing his powers to allot MUDA site in Mysore in the name of his wife. The petitioner has filed another writ petition in the Sessions Court today on Friday September 27, and appealed to the CBI to investigate this matter.
Siddaramaiah targets BJP
Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday September 27 claimed that he is being targeted in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land allotment case because the opposition is afraid of him. Along with this, Siddaramaiah said that this is the first political case against him. The Chief Minister reiterated that even after the court ordered an inquiry against him in the case, he will not resign because he has not done anything wrong. He insisted that he will fight the battle legally.
Accusing the Central government of misusing central agencies like the CBI, ED and the office of the Governor in Opposition-ruled states across the country, he said there was a need for a national debate on the issue of “interference” of Governor in the administration.
