Israel-Iran Conflict Updates: The Israel-Iran conflict entered its fifth day on Tuesday June 17, 2025 . Missiles were fired from both countries on Monday June 16 , 2025 . Several people were killed and dozens injured in Iranian attacks on Tel Aviv, Haifa and Petah Tikva. During this, major infrastructure including a power plant was damaged. Overall, the number of Israelis killed has reached 22. According to Iran’s Health Ministry, the total number of people killed in Israeli attacks has reached around 224. Meanwhile, some Indian students are stranded abroad due to the war, who are being relocated.
Meanwhile, the leaders participating in the G7 summit held in Canada have issued a joint statement expressing concern over the Middle East crisis. The G7 leaders have appealed to reduce tensions over Iran and clarified that Israel has full right to self-defense. The statement also said that the stand of the G7 countries has always been clear that Iran can never acquire nuclear weapons. Apart from this, the G7 leaders stressed the need to maintain peace and stability in the region.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that Iran tried to assassinate US President Trump. He said that the missile hit his bedroom window. He has vowed to continue targeting Iran’s nuclear program. Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian appealed for national unity. At the same time, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has accused Israel of attacking residential areas and threatened ‘severe punishment’. Israel’s Defense Minister warned that Tehran will soon have to pay the price for this. Also, India has started the work of rescuing its citizens trapped in Iran. Apart from this, the Ministry of External Affairs of India has issued helpline numbers for Indian citizens living in Iran and Israel.
