Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in the last decade, India has witnessed an infrastructure boom, which has directly benefited Madhya Pradesh (MP). He said that a large part of big projects like Delhi-Mumbai Expressway passes through MP, which will definitely lead to the growth of logistics sector in the state. Today, more than 5 lakh kilometers of road network has been developed in MP, which is promoting trade and industry in the state.
MP has seen a new phase of transformation
Prime Minister Modi said that Madhya Pradesh is the fifth largest state of India in terms of population. It is among the top states of the country in the agricultural sector and is also among the top 5 states in terms of mineral resources. This state, enriched by the blessings of Maa Narmada, is touching new heights of development. In the last two decades, MP has seen extensive transformation, due to which it is joining the leading states of the country.
Solution to Global Supply Chain Challenges in India
The Prime Minister said that according to a recent report, India is becoming an important hub for the supply chain of global aerospace bombs. Big industries of the world are considering India as a solution to global supply chain challenges. This shows that India is proving its industrial capabilities at the global level.
India shows results
PM Modi said that an organization of the United Nations (UN) has accepted India as a solar power superpower. He said that while many countries only talk, India shows concrete results of its efforts.
On the leading role of MP in the EV revolution, Prime Minister Modi said that Madhya Pradesh, once known for its bad roads, has today become one of the leading states of the Electric Vehicle (EV) revolution. By January 2025, about two lakh electric vehicles have been registered in MP, which shows an unprecedented growth of 90%. This is an indication that MP is now becoming a major destination for manufacturing and new technologies as well.
World’s expectations from India
Prime Minister Modi said that today the whole world has great expectations from India, be it common people, policy-makers, countries or global institutions. International reports in recent weeks have further increased the enthusiasm of investors in India. The World Bank has also said that India will remain the world’s fastest growing economy in the coming years.
On petrochemical and industrial development, PM Modi said that an investment of Rs 50,000 crore has been made in the Bina refinery, which will help in making Madhya Pradesh a hub of petrochemical industry. More than 300 industrial areas have been established in the state, in which special industrial zones are being created for investors at major places like Pithampur, Dewas and Ratlam. This is an important step towards making the state one of the major industrial centers of the country.
Improvement in water resources and agriculture
He further said that along with industrial development, attention is also being paid to better management of water resources. A project to link rivers is being run in the state, which will improve irrigation and water supply. The Rs 45,000 crore Ken-Betwa link project will increase the fertility of 10 lakh hectares of land, which will also increase agricultural production.
Emphasis on Triple T ‘Textile, Tourism and Technology’
PM Modi said that new sectors like textile, tourism and technology are being opened for investment in Madhya Pradesh. This state is called the “Cotton Capital” of India, as it supplies 30% of cotton. It is also the largest center of Melbury Cotton. Apart from this, there is also great potential in the tourism sector, especially in the field of religious and wildlife tourism.
