Raipur: Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka on Friday participated in a cleanliness drive on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, personally taking up a broom outside the Lok Bhavan premises to reinforce the message of public participation in cleanliness.
The activity was undertaken as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, with the Governor joining officers and employees of Lok Bhavan in cleaning the surrounding area.
Officials and staff carried out cleanliness activities at different locations around the premises during the morning. They swept the area, collected waste and ensured its proper disposal.
Governor Deka said cleanliness should not be regarded as an activity restricted to a particular occasion but should become part of everyday life.
“Cleanliness is not merely a one-day campaign; we must make it a part of our daily lives. Participation of every citizen is essential for building a clean society along with clean and beautiful surroundings,” the Governor said.
His participation on Gandhi Jayanti highlighted the emphasis on individual responsibility and community involvement at the heart of cleanliness initiatives.
