Haryana Election Result: The results of Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections were declared on Tuesday October 8 . BJP made a hat-trick of victory in Haryana, surprising everyone. The party won 48 seats. On the other hand, Congress won 37 seats. After the election results in Haryana, some Congress leaders accused the Election Commission of deliberately slowing down the counting of votes, while some leaders have even raised questions on EVMs. Regarding these allegations, the Election Commission has written a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.
In a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, the Election Commission said that such statements are against the democratic tradition of the country. This is like rejecting the opinion of the public. The Commission also said that elections are held in the entire country including Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana according to the same rules and regulations.
The Election Commission has also mentioned the statements of the Congress President and the Leader of the Opposition in the letter, in which they described the results of Haryana as ‘unexpected’. The Election Commission said that we have taken note of your and the Leader of the Opposition’s statements, in which the results of Haryana have been described as “unexpected” and the Congress has proposed to analyse it and contact the Election Commission with its complaints. Which we have taken seriously. We consider the statement of the party president as the formal position of the party on the election results.
The Election Commission has agreed to meet the delegation today at 6 pm (Wednesday ,October 9 ) at Sukumar Sen Hall (7th floor), Nirvachan Sadan.
Congress leaders had made these allegations
After the results came on Tuesday October 8, Congress leaders Pawan Khera and Jairam Ramesh held a press conference and alleged that the results of Haryana are very unexpected, we cannot accept this. Serious complaints have come from many districts. Pawan Khera had said that the results are shocking and are completely opposite to what we saw on the ground level. We are getting complaints related to the counting of votes from our workers. Soon we will file a formal complaint. This is a victory of the system, not democracy. We cannot accept this.
Jairam Ramesh had said that we will go to the Election Commission in a day or two and lodge a formal complaint. There was pressure on local officials. There are many seats where we cannot lose, but we have lost there. The results are against sentiments. We have serious complaints about the counting of votes in three districts. This information will be collected. The results in Haryana are completely unexpected, surprising and contradictory. This is contrary to the ground reality. This is against the wishes of the people of Haryana, it is not possible to accept these results under these circumstances.
