For the first time since his marriage, Abhay Singh arrived in his ancestral district of Jhajjar accompanied by his wife. A massive crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of him. He revealed that he is currently working on establishing ‘Shri University.’ This university aims to integrate spiritual practice and various forms of spiritual disciplines alongside conventional worldly knowledge.

Abhay Singh—who rose to prominence as “IIT Baba” during the Prayagraj Mahakumbh—visited the Jhajjar Tehsil office on Monday April 6, 2026 with his wife, Pritika, to update the KYC details of his bank account. Within the Tehsil premises, he spent some time in the chamber of his father—an advocate—where he also interacted with the media.

Crowds Gather for Selfies
Outside the chamber, a crowd of people eager to take selfies with Abhay Singh began to gather. Many individuals also took the opportunity to reminisce about old times shared with him. Abhay Singh mentioned that his wife, Pritika, hails from Bengaluru. The couple is working together to realize a shared vision. When asked about meeting his parents, he remarked, “I will certainly meet them; however, sometimes one must leave a small family behind for the sake of a larger family.”

The Dream of Establishing ‘Shri University’
Abhay Singh explained that he is actively working on the creation of ‘Shri University.’ This institution is envisioned as a place where spiritual practice and various forms of spiritual disciplines will be seamlessly integrated with conventional worldly knowledge. He stated, “Knowledge will be synthesized. Work will be undertaken here on both theoretical knowledge—that which is taught—and experiential knowledge—that which is gained through spiritual practice.”

Distancing Oneself from Worldly Matters is Essential: Abhay Singh
He emphasized that maintaining a distance from worldly matters is of utmost importance. Currently, he is residing in Himachal Pradesh with his wife. During the Mahakumbh, Abhay Singh garnered significant attention due to his ascetic attire, his background as an IIT alumnus, and his articulate views. Now, following his marriage, he is preparing to steer his spiritual and academic journey in a new direction.

Abhay Singh Tied the Knot in February
According to sources, Abhay Singh got married on February 15, 2026, this year. The wedding ceremony took place in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, the couple solemnized their union through a civil marriage on February 19, following which they have continued to reside in Himachal. This visit marks his first return to his ancestral district of Jhajjar since his marriage.
