Cataract Treatment Provided to Patients from Kistaram, Mukarram under Niyad Nella Nar Yojana

Raipur: In keeping with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s commitment to good governance and Antyodaya, the expansion of healthcare services in remote Maoist-affected areas of Sukma district is progressing steadily.

As part of these efforts, 14 cataract patients from interior villages have received successful treatment, restoring their eyesight and bringing renewed hope to their lives.

Under the state government’s flagship Niyad Nella Nar Yojana, patients were identified through special health camps organised in inaccessible areas of Konta block, including the remote villages of Mukarram, Patelpara, Sarpanchpara and Kistaram. The identified patients were provided special transport arrangements by the district administration and referred to Jagdalpur Medical College for advanced treatment, where their cataract surgeries were successfully performed.

After the procedures, all patients were safely brought back from Jagargunda and Kistaram to the District Hospital, Sukma, under the supervision of eye assistants.

According to doctors, the patients will remain under specialist observation at the district hospital for the next four days to ensure proper recovery and follow-up care. During this period, arrangements for their stay and meals are being provided free of cost by the district administration.

This initiative by the Health Department and the district administration reflects that welfare schemes under the Niyad Nella Nar Yojana are not limited to paperwork, but are reaching the last person living in the most remote forested regions. Beneficiaries of the treatment have expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, and the district administration for this timely and compassionate intervention.
