Astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore have been stranded in space for almost two months and they have not yet been able to return to Earth. On this, NASA is working on new plans for their return.
Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams took off on Boeing’s Starliner on June 5. Both were to return from space after about 1 week, but the technical flaws and helium leak in the test flight became so serious that NASA docked the Starliner to the space station. Both are stuck in space since then.
NASA will take the final decision tomorrow on August 24 .
NASA is considering two options for the return of Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, either through Boeing’s Starliner or through SpaceX’s Dragon capsule. A meeting of NASA Administrator Bill Nelson and other senior officials is scheduled to be held tomorrow, in which a final decision will be taken on which option to ensure their safe return.
