IND vs ENG 3rd ODI Match Highlights: The last match of the 3-match ODI series between the Indian team and England was played on Wednesday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Indian team won this match easily. With this, England has been clean swept 3-0 in the series.

IND vs ENG 3rd ODI Match Highlights: Just before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Indian team led by Rohit Sharma has shown a great game. Team India has clean swept England 3-0 in the 3-match ODI series being played at home. The third i.e. last match of the series was played on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The Indian team won this match by 142 runs. Before this, the Indian team had won the first and second matches of the series by 4 wickets. In this way, they have clean swept England in a bilateral ODI series after 13 years.

Before this, the Indian team had clean swept the England team 5-0 in a 5 match ODI series in October 2011. At that time also the England team had come on a tour to India. Something similar has happened this time also. But this time the series was of only 3 ODI matches.

Shubman’s century, Kohli-Shreyas’ half-centuries

Earlier, after losing the toss and batting first, the Indian team scored 356 runs in 50 overs. The Indian team did not have a good start. Last match’s centurion Rohit Sharma was out in the second over itself. Rohit was caught out by fast bowler Mark Wood at the hands of wicketkeeper Phil Salt. Rohit scored just 1 run off two balls. After this, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli took charge. There was a partnership of 116 runs for the second wicket between the two. Shubman Gill completed his fifty off 51 balls. At the same time, Kohli completed his fifty off 50 balls. This was the 73rd half-century of Kohli’s ODI career.

However, Virat Kohli returned to the pavilion shortly after scoring a half-century. Kohli was caught out by spinner Adil Rashid at the hands of wicketkeeper Phil Salt. Kohli scored 52 runs off 55 balls with the help of 7 fours and a six. After Kohli was out, Shreyas Iyer took charge along with Shubman Gill. Shubman completed his century in 95 balls.

This was Shubman Gill’s 7th century in ODI International. Apart from this, he has scored 5 centuries in Test cricket. While Gill has also scored a century in T20 International. In this way, this star opener has scored a century in all three formats. After Shubman scored a century, Shreyas Iyer also completed his fifty. There was a partnership of 104 runs for the third wicket between Shreyas and Shubman. Shubman was dismissed after scoring 112 runs in 102 balls. During this, he hit 14 fours and three sixes. Shubman was bowled by Adil Rashid. Rashid then dismissed Shreyas Iyer as well. Shreyas scored 78 runs in 64 balls, which included 8 fours and two sixes.

Hardik Pandya (17) and Axar Patel (13) could not do much with the bat. KL Rahul tried to stay at the crease, but Saqib Mahmood ended his innings. Rahul scored 40 runs in 29 balls, which included three fours and a six. Harshit Rana (13), Washington Sundar (14) and Arshdeep Singh (2) were the last three batsmen to get out. For England, Adil Rashid took the most four wickets for 64 runs. Mark Wood got two wickets. Gus Atkinson, Saqib Mahmood and Joe Root also got one wicket each. Three changes in the Indian team for the match

There were three changes in the Indian team for this match. Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami were rested, while spinner Varun Chakraborty was out due to calf pain. Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar and Arshdeep Singh were included in the playing-11. On the other hand, England included Tom Banton in the playing-11 in place of Jamie Overton.

After this match, Team India will now be seen playing directly in the Champions Trophy. In such a situation, the Rohit Brigade came out to implement its strategy to make the team combination more solid for the Champions Trophy.
