Amidst these speculations, Home Minister Naqvi issued a statement calling it a malicious campaign and said that we are fully aware of who is behind running such a campaign to target President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief.
He said that I have already said that there has been no discussion on President Zardari’s resignation and there is no such possibility. President Zardari has a good and respectful relationship with the army.
He said that I know who is spreading this fake news and why and who will benefit from it. Asif Munir’s focus is on strengthening Pakistan and bringing stability. Those who are creating such fake narratives can run such campaigns in connivance with the enemy. But we will do whatever we can to make Pakistan stronger.
Let us tell you that Asif Munir was made the Army Chief for three years in 2022. His tenure was extended to five years last year.
