Jammu and Kashmir assembly election : 65.48 percent voting in the last phase, tremendous enthusiasm among voters, highest voting of 72.91 percent in Udhampur

65.48% voting took place in the third and final phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. Voting took place on 40 assembly seats of the state. On October 1, voting took place on 24 seats in Jammu division and 16 seats in Kashmir division. Enthusiasm was seen among the voters here. Voting has already taken place on 50 seats in the first two phases. 72.91% voting took place in Udhampur.

Whereas, 63.33 percent voting took place in Bandipora, 55.73 percent in Baramulla, 66.79 percent in Jammu, 70.53 percent in Kathua, 62.76 percent in Kupwara, 72.41 percent in Samba and 72.91 percent in Udhampur.

Enthusiasm for voting was seen among the voters here. Long queues of people were seen outside the polling booths. There were tight security arrangements in the seats near the Pakistan border. About 20 thousand employees were deployed on duty to ensure terror-free and peaceful voting in the areas where the third phase of voting took place.

Let us tell you that the fate of 415 candidates including two former Deputy Chief Ministers Tara Chand and Muzaffar Beg is going to be decided in the third phase of elections. Apart from these, the fate of prominent leaders like People’s Conference President and former minister Sajjad Lone and National Panthers Party India President Dev Singh is at stake. Sajjad Lone is contesting from two assembly seats in Kupwara, while Dev Singh is contesting from Chenani seat in Udhampur.

People’s Conference President Sajjad Lone said on the election results, hope the results will be good. He said that in the last election they were competing for a strong assembly.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that the enthusiastic participation of the people in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections reflects the success of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies and bringing democracy into the true mainstream in the Union Territory.
