Record Progress in Paddy Procurement: Payments Within 48 Hours, 3 Lakh Metric Tonnes of Paddy Procured Daily

Raipur: Paddy procurement under the Kharif Marketing Year 2025–26 is progressing smoothly, swiftly, and transparently across the state. So far, 23.48 lakh farmers have directly benefited by selling their paddy at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The implementation of a digital and time-bound system has boosted farmer confidence and ensured strong participation at procurement centres.

An amount of Rs. 29,597 crore has already been paid to farmers against paddy procurement. Payments are being made strictly in accordance with MSP, ensuring farmers receive a fair and full price for their produce.

The large-scale direct transfer of funds highlights the state’s strong financial management and its clear commitment to farmer welfare.

A key feature of the system is that payments are credited directly to farmers’ bank accounts within 48 hours of paddy sale. This has eliminated intermediaries and ensured timely payments. Faster disbursal has strengthened farmers’ financial stability and enabled them to plan upcoming agricultural activities with ease.

In the next three days, around 1.5 lakh additional farmers are expected to arrive at procurement centres to sell their produce. The administration has completed all necessary preparations to ensure a smooth process without inconvenience to farmers. Clear instructions have been issued to maintain efficient arrangements for weighing, transportation, and payment at all centres.

During the same period, more than 70,000 new tokens are likely to be issued. Currently, an average of 22,000 tokens is generated daily, allowing farmers to sell paddy in an orderly manner according to their scheduled turn. The token system has played a vital role in crowd management and saving time.

Approximately 3 lakh metric tonnes of paddy are being procured every day across the state, reflecting the scale of the operation and administrative capacity. Despite the high volume, strict monitoring is being maintained over quality checks, weighing, and storage to prevent any irregularities.

Overall, paddy procurement in the Kharif Marketing Year 2025–26 has emerged as a farmer-centric, transparent, and technology-driven model. Timely token issuance, rapid procurement, and payments within 48 hours have strengthened farmers’ trust, giving the state’s agricultural economy a fresh momentum.
