Victim’s mother said – How is this not the rarest of rare cases?
The victim’s mother said, “We are shocked. How is this not the rarest of rare cases? A doctor on duty was raped. She was murdered. We are disappointed. There was a big conspiracy behind this crime.” While announcing the punishment for Sanjay Roy, Additional District and Sessions Judge Anirban Das said that this does not fall in the category of rarest of rare cases. Therefore, in this case, he is sentencing the culprit to life imprisonment.
Victim’s parents refuse to take compensation of 17 lakhs
The victim’s father said that they will continue their fight until all the other culprits are punished. Along with this, the victim’s parents also refused to take compensation. In its decision, the court had directed the state government to pay compensation of Rs 17 lakhs. The judge said, “The victim died while on duty in the hospital. It was her workplace. His family should get compensation, which is the responsibility of the state.
