New Delhi : In the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP candidate from Kalkaji seat Ramesh Bidhuri made ‘vulgar’ statements about Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi and Delhi CM Atishi. The Chief Election Commissioner criticized his statements in a press conference and explained why action is not being taken against him yet.
The dates for the Delhi Assembly elections have been announced. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar told in a press conference that voting for the Delhi elections will be held on February 5 and its results will come on February 8. Meanwhile, he was also questioned about controversial statements. Recently, the Election Commissioner termed the statements made by BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri on Priyanka Gandhi and CM Atishi as ‘vulgar’.
In response to a question on Ramesh Bidhuri’s statement, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that if someone says vulgar things about a woman, then he should be condemned as much as he should be. Not only us, everyone should do it together. Voters should also do this.
Election Commission chief Rajiv Kumar further said, “Such dirty comments should not be made. We have given very strict guidelines. He said that we are currently stopping our district officers from taking criminal action. Let the voters decide this. If we start this, it is not right, but we do not accept it and condemn it.
