List of voters whose names have been deleted from SIR released, EC takes action after Supreme Court’s interim order

The Election Commission (EC) has made public the list of voters whose names have been deleted from the draft voter list under Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar. The Election Commission has released this list on the official website of Bihar.

New Delhi :The Election Commission (EC) has released the list of 65 lakh voters whose names have been deleted from the draft voter list under Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar. This list has been made public on the official website of the Commission, so that all voters can easily confirm their information.

This step of releasing the list has been taken under the order of the Supreme Court dated August 14, it includes the names of those voters whose names were deleted from the SIR draft list. For the convenience of voters, the Election Commission has also activated a new link on the Bihar website, so that everyone can easily check their list.

The Supreme Court had directed the Election Commission to publish a district-wise list and clearly state the reasons for deletion of names. Whether it is due to death, migration or registration. Apart from this, the Supreme Court also told the Election Commission that the booth-wise list of deleted voters should be put up in the office of the District Election Officer and the District Election Officer should also share it on his social media platform.

The Commission has also been instructed to issue advertisements in newspapers, radio, TV and other media to widely publicize the information. The list will also be displayed at each BLO (Booth Level Officer) office and Panchayat office.

Election Commission’s response to Rahul Gandhi

Meanwhile, the Election Commission reacted strongly to the allegations of ‘vote theft’ by Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. The Election Commission accused political parties of targeting voters and putting allegations on the Election Commission. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar asked Rahul Gandhi to submit an affidavit with proof within 7 days or apologise publicly.
