Raipur: Maoism is like cancer. If cancer is need to be eradicated, it is necessary to attack its roots. Maoists had stuck to some areas of Bastar like leeches and were exploiting the local people by intimidating them. These places were their safest hideouts. We decided to attack the Maoists by entering their den. Due to the indomitable courage of our security forces, we fought these Maoists and defeated them. In the last one year, our security forces have killed more than 230 Maoists in various encounters. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said this while addressing the function organised on the occasion of inauguration and foundation stone laying of development works in the mini stadium of Sukma district.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that I respectfully congratulate the holy land on which the holy feet of Lord Shri Ram touched. Maoist violence had thrown the Bastar division as well as Sukma district into the fire of violence. Due to this, the development of Sukma district was badly affected. In one year, our government has taken many important decisions for the development of Sukma district and implemented them rapidly. The Chief Minister said that in this series, today we have inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan of 137 works worth Rs 205 crore here. These works include inauguration of 82 works worth Rs 39 crore and Bhoomi Pujan of 55 works worth Rs 166 crore. The most important work among these works is the Bhoomi Pujan of the water supply scheme in Sukma Municipality at a cost of Rs 83 crore. Along with this, we also performed the Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of Keralapal to Pongabhejji road at a cost of Rs 14 crore. Chief Minister Sai said that as per a well-planned strategy, we expanded the camps in the Maoist-affected areas and expanded the security network. Now the Maoists have been confined to a very limited area and are in panic. Due to this, they are doing cowardly acts. The soldiers who were martyred in the IED blast incident on the convoy of our soldiers by the Maoists were the sons of the soil of Bastar. The Chief Minister said that today on this land of Sukma, we all take a pledge again that we will destroy Maoism from its roots. We will take revenge for the martyrdom of our martyred soldiers.
Chief Minister Sai said that we are not only providing security to the people through the camps, but are also working for development. For this, we started the Niyyad Nella Nar Yojana for the development of the villages falling within the radius of five km of the camp, through which all the basic facilities are being made available in these rural areas.
The Maoists, who use the best weapons and new communication equipment for themselves, have kept the rural areas in such a state of terror that the people here stay away from television.
The village of the Maoist commander Purvarti was backward in terms of development for many years. People had not seen electricity, had not seen television. Now Purvarti village is illuminated with solar lights. People saw Doordarshan for the first time after 78 years of independence. It was like a miracle for them . Electricity has come to village Salatong after 78 years. With the arrival of electricity, the light of development has also spread rapidly here. Now the children here will be able to study well. They will be able to join the mainstream of development. Hakkum Mail is being run here to provide relief to the people in transportation. Due to these buses, the life of the people has become easier. Reaching health centers has become easier. Through this scheme, for the first time, Aadhar cards of people were made, Ayushman cards were made and Kisan Credit Cards were also being made, CM expounded .
