Raipur: On the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, women members were appointed in the State Women’s Commission constituted to provide justice to half of the state’s population, women, by the Chhattisgarh government on September 26 . Members were appointed on 5 vacant posts of Chhattisgarh State Women’s Commission. Mrs. Laxmi Verma of Balodabazar came to the commission office on 7 October itself and took charge. Today, members Priyamvada Singh Judev of Jashpur, Mrs. Sarla Kosaria of Mahasamund, Mrs. Ojaswi Mandavi of Dantewada and Deepika Sori of Sukma took charge in the commission office today.
Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Women’s Commission, while congratulating all the newly appointed members, asked them to work together in the interests of women. It is known that the tenure of the old members of the State Women’s Commission ended on June 27, 2024. The Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Women’s Commission had sent a letter to the Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai demanding the appointment of all the five members of the State Women’s Commission as soon as possible, as well as the appointment of members from all divisions, especially from Surguja and Bastar divisions. Acting on which, Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister for the appointment of members from Surguja, Bastar, Raipur divisions by the state government.
