Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has said that the volunteers of Rashtriya Seva Yojana are making a significant contribution in nation building. The volunteers have awakened the spirit of service in rural areas as well as urban areas. They have set an example by making creative contributions in the field of education, health including Swachhata Abhiyan, Literacy Abhiyan.
The Chief Minister said that the volunteers should play an active role in the work of de-addiction. Chief Minister i Sai was addressing the state level foundation day and felicitation ceremony of Rashtriya Seva Yojana organised in the Krishak Auditorium of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University on Monday September 23 .
On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced the approval of Rs 50 lakh to the state unit of Rashtriya Seva Yojana for organising various programs. He said that an amount of Rs 13 lakh was given for organising the programs of the state unit, which is being increased to Rs 50 lakh.
On this occasion, Secretary of Higher Education Department Prasanna R., Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Dr. Girish Chandel, Commissioner of Higher Education Department Janak Prasad Pathak, State NSS Officer Dr. Neeta Bajpai were also present.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister honored the young volunteers, program officers and institutions who made excellent contribution in service works and released the NSS magazine Samarpan. He administered the oath of cleanliness to the people present. Chief Minister Sai said that the National Service Scheme was started on the 100th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
Remembering former President A.P.J. Kalam, he said that he often used to say that do not live for yourself, live in such a way that the coming generation is proud of you. The coming generation will be proud of you only when you give something to the society through your creative contribution.
He said that the youth have an important role in taking forward the torch that our nation builders have handed over to us. The Chief Minister said that eight girl students of National Service Scheme of our state participated in the parade organised in Kartavya Path in New Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day. This is a matter of pride for all of us. This parade was dedicated to women power and our girl students increased the pride of the state by participating in it.
The Chief Minister said that the government is doing great work for the youth. Employment-oriented education is being provided to the youth through the new education policy. Skill training is being given to the youth. They are being introduced to new age trades. Youth can learn the skills of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics. Youth are being given the facility of interest-free loan for professional studies through the Chief Minister Higher Education Scheme.
A large number of recruitments are coming out in various departments. Youth willing to go into the field of enterprise can take advantage of the Chhattisgarh Udyam Kranti Yojana. In this, interest-free loan is given on 50 percent subsidy. Internship Scheme has been started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide opportunities to the youth in the industry.
In this, one crore youth will get a chance to learn work in the top 500 companies of the country and will also get allowance for this. All of you should also promote it properly.
The Chief Minister said that Swami Vivekananda used to say that if I get 100 energetic youths, I can change the condition and direction of the country. One lakh six thousand volunteers are associated with the National Service Scheme in Chhattisgarh. Seeing this huge number and the enthusiasm and energy of you people, I am fully confident that we will definitely achieve the goal of developed India and developed Chhattisgarh.
Secretary of Higher Education Department Prasanna R. said that 7 to 8 lakh young volunteers have been prepared in the state through NSS, currently there are more than one lakh volunteers of NSS, who are contributing in creative works. Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Dr. Girish Chandel, Commissioner of Higher Education Department Janak Prasad Pathak also addressed the program. State NSS Officer Dr. Neeta Bajpai gave the welcome speech. The program was conducted by NSS Program Coordinator Dr. RP Agarwal. On this occasion, students and officers associated with NSS from all over the state were present in large numbers .
