Kathmandu: The political crisis in Nepal had deepened due to the Gen Z movement and in this atmosphere of protest, Sushila Karki is made the head of the interim government.
After the fall of KP Sharma Oli’s government, the agitators wanted a leader who is impartial and has a clean image to lead. Sushila Karki’s name is finalised after the consent of almost all the political parties, the army, the agitating groups and the President.
The Parliament was dissolved on Friday September 12 , 2025 evening.
Sushila Karki was the first woman Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and was known for her anti-corruption stance and as a judge with a different thinking for the deprived.
After Sushila’s swearing-in, efforts will be intensified to bring law and order back on track.
