The DGMO (Director General of Military Operations) level talks between India and Pakistan concluded at 5:00 pm on Monday, 12 May, 2025 . The talks discussed issues related to continuing the commitment that both sides should not fire a single bullet or initiate any aggressive and hostile action against each other. It was also agreed that both sides should consider immediate measures to ensure reduction in the number of troops from the borders and forward areas. The talks, which were earlier scheduled to be held at 12 noon, ended at 5 pm.

Nine terror hideouts destroyed

India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ on the morning of May 7, targeting nine terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. On Saturday, the two countries announced a sudden agreement to halt all military operations on land, air and sea with immediate effect.

35-40 Pakistani soldiers killed

During a defence press conference held on Monday, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai said that 35-40 Pakistani soldiers have been killed in the fighting and we have achieved our target. Officials also said that all military bases and systems of India are fully operational and ready to carry out any mission if needed.

Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai also said that the Indian armed forces sent a ‘hotline message’ to the Pakistani side on Sunday, informing them of the violation of the military consensus reached a day earlier. He warned that if it happens again, India will take strict action.

He asserted that the Indian armed forces have so far exercised “great restraint” and “our actions have been focused, measured and non-aggressive.”

Ghai added, “However, any threat to sovereignty, territorial integrity and security of our citizens will be met with full force.”
