Journalist’s entire family murdered-Photo- Arrangements
After the murder of Mukesh Chandrakar in Chhattisgarh, now another journalist’s family has been targeted. The entire family of National News Channel’s district reporter Santosh Kumar Topo was brutally murdered in a land dispute. The accused hacked his parents and brother with an axe. This dispute started over farming on land.
The case of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar’s murder in Chhattisgarh had not yet settled down when another journalist’s entire family was murdered. On Friday January 19 ,2025 in Surajpur district, the entire family of National News Channel’s district reporter Santosh Kumar Topo was brutally murdered due to property dispute. This murder incident created a sensation in the entire area.
The deceased include journalist Santosh’s parents and brother. The incident took place at 1 pm in Khargwa police station area of Jagannathpur when Santosh’s parents were working in the field. According to the police, there was a long-standing dispute between Santosh’s family and his relatives regarding property.
On Friday January 10 , 2025 , after a dispute over something in the field, this fight turned into a bloody conflict, after which Santosh’s uncle attacked his parents with a sharp weapon. In this attack, Santosh’s parents and brother died on the spot. Police said that the accused brutally hacked them with an axe.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the team of Khargwa police station reached the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem. Police said that a case has been registered against Santosh’s uncle and other suspected relatives. Police is continuously conducting raids to arrest the killers.
According to the new development in the case , the deceased family was having a land dispute with their own relatives in Dubka Para of Jagannathpur village. Where two months ago, the court had given the degree of land for the deceased family. Yesterday on January 10, 2025 , the deceased family had gone to the disputed land for farming. It is being told that more than 25 people attacked with axes, spades and sticks. Due to which the journalist’s mother and brother died on the spot, while his father died while being taken to the hospital.

23 people involved in this murder have been arrested so far and other accused are being arrested. Some more accused may be arrested .Bedsides many women are also included among the arrested accused. The police is engaged in further investigation.
