Raipur: In a warm, dignified gathering that celebrated heritage, identity and community strength, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday Nvember 23, 2025 participated in the Gond Youth Introduction Conference (Gond Yuvak-Yuvti Parichay Sammelan) organised by ‘Chhattisgarh Gond Samaj Kalyan Samiti’ at Gondwana Bhavan in Tikarapara, Raipur. Welcomed with traditional tribal rituals, Chief Minister Sai commenced the programme by offering prayers to Bhagwan Budhadev, and announced a financial aid of Rs 5 lakh to support the Gond community’s social and cultural activities.

During the event, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Sai released two significant books authored by Vikas Markam, Chairperson of the Chhattisgarh Tribal Local Health Traditions and Medicinal Plants Board—“Adivasi Itihasic Nirantarata se Vartamaan Chunautiyon Tak” and “Virāsat ka Samman: Vaishvik Drishtikon par Sawaal.”

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the Gond community’s history is both rich and glorious. He noted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been deeply sensitive towards the welfare of tribal communities, and the proud presence of a tribal representative in the country’s highest constitutional office stands as a symbol of this respect.

Sai emphasised that extensive initiatives for the holistic development of tribal communities are being implemented through schemes such as PM Janman and the Pradhan Mantri Dharati Aaba Gram Utkarsh Yojana. Special interventions have also been launched for the upliftment of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).

Reiterating the state government’s commitment to honouring the legacy of tribal heroes, the Chief Minister urged the community members to visit the Tribal Museum established in Nava Raipur. He said the museum beautifully showcases the valour and cultural heritage of tribal warriors who have always defended their land and identity. He added that the Tribal Pride Day, celebrated on the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, is a powerful medium to honour the heritage of Adivasi community.

Considering such gatherings an important platform for strengthening community bonds, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that youth introduction conferences (Gond Yuvak-Yuvti Parichay Sammelan) help the younger generation to connect not only with each other but also with their traditions and create meaningful social relationships. He extended his best wishes to the organizers for the successful event.

On this occasion, Shri Vikas Markam highlighted the glorious history of the Gond community, recalling its rich traditions and heroic narratives. He said that Gond rulers played an important role in administration, governance and social organisation in various historical periods—contributions documented in several historical records. He affirmed that under the Double-Engine Government, the welfare, development and empowerment of tribal communities have been placed at the highest priority, and that the benefits of various central and state schemes are now reaching tribal households on a large scale.

He called for unity and collective advancement, noting that community-driven initiatives and innovation are the foundation of societal strength.

The programme was attended by Chhattisgarh Gond Samaj Kalyan Samiti President Jaggu Singh, Vice-President Kishore Dhruv, Sewaram Dhruv, Hari Singh Thakur, and several other members of the community.
