Today on Thursday February 13, 2025 is the last day of the proceedings of the first half of the current budget session of Parliament. Today, the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) headed by Jagdambika Pal will present its report in the Lok Sabha. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will also present the New Income Tax Bill today. BJP MP Medha Vishram Kulkarni has presented the JPC report on Waqf in the Rajya Sabha. The Upper House has also accepted the report. Opposition members have demanded the withdrawal of the Waqf Bill and called it an attack on the rights of minorities.

As soon as the proceedings of the Lok Sabha started, the opposition created a ruckus. Opposition members are shouting slogans in the well, demanding the withdrawal of the Waqf Bill. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla appealed to the opposition members to let the proceedings of the Question Hour continue. He said that when the bill comes, then we will see. The opposition members continued sloganeering following which the Speaker adjourned the House till 2 pm.

Serious constitutional flaws in the draft of Waqf Bill – Gaurav Gogoi
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has said that during the discussions in the JPC, we have highlighted serious constitutional flaws and inconsistencies in the draft of the Waqf Bill. JPC report on Waqf Bill will be presented today
After the Waqf Bill was presented in the Lok Sabha, it was sent to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). A JPC was formed under the leadership of BJP MP Jagdambika Pal for the scrutiny of this bill. The JPC led by Jagdambika Pal had submitted its report to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla at the end of January. Jagdambika Pal will present the JPC report in the Lok Sabha today.
