The monsoon session of Parliament has begun today. The first session of Parliament after Operation Sindoor began with uproar.

New Delhi : The proceedings of the monsoon session of Parliament have begun today. The proceedings in both the houses of Parliament started with uproar. The opposition parties created a ruckus in both the houses demanding discussion on the issue of Pahalgam terrorist attack, Operation Sindoor and special intensive revision of voter list in Bihar.

Rajya Sabha proceedings adjourned for the day
Rajya Sabha proceedings have been adjourned for the day. Before the proceedings were adjourned, the landing bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha and Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar informed about receiving a notice regarding the motion to remove Allahabad High Court judge Justice Yashwant Verma.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said that a notice has been received to remove Justice Yashwant Verma. This notice has been received from more than 50 members. This is more than the number required to start the process of removing a High Court judge. He said that if a proposal comes in one house, the presiding officer has the right to accept or reject it. But if the motion comes in both the houses on the same day, then it becomes the property of the house. A three-member committee is formed consisting of the Chief Justice, a Chief Justice of the High Court and a member.

After the report of this committee, the Speaker or Chairman can take a decision on the motion. The Chairman asked the Secretary General to confirm whether this motion has also come in the Lok Sabha. After this, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal said that in the Lok Sabha also the members have given the motion in writing to the Speaker. Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar also said that there are 55 signatures on the motion we received, but the number of members who signed it is only 54. We will verify which member has signed twice. The second signature of that member will be invalidated.

Annual health checkup should be mandatory for all – Raghav Chadha

Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha raised the issue of annual health checkup under Special Mention in Rajya Sabha. He said that every Indian should be given the legal right to annual health checkup. There should be a complete investigation and the disease should be detected as soon as possible.

Laws should be made for matrimonial websites- Gopachhade

Dr Ajit Madhavrao Gopachhade raised the issue of regulating matrimonial websites. He demanded the making of rules and regulations for these websites, referring to the arrest of a person from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh in a case of fraud by creating six fake matrimonial websites and the arrest of a person from Jammu and Kashmir by Pune Police in a case of sexual exploitation. Dr Gopachhade demanded to ensure the safety of the users and said that this will create a positive atmosphere in the society.

Landing bill passed by voice vote in Rajya Sabha

The landing bill has been passed by the Rajya Sabha. This bill was passed by the Lok Sabha in March 2025. During the discussion on this bill, members of all opposition parties except Aam Aadmi Party, Biju Janata Dal and Bharat Rashtra Samiti were not present in the House. Opposition members walked out of Rajya Sabha.

‘PM- Home Minister and Defense Minister should be present during discussion on Operation Sindoor’, Opposition’s demand

Opposition parties have also demanded in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee that the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Defense Minister should be present in the House during the discussion on Operation Sindoor. Discussion on Operation Sindoor will be held next week.

Discussion on landing bill has been completed in Rajya Sabha. In this discussion, Ashok Kumar Mittal of Aam Aadmi Party, Niranjan BC of Biju Janata Dal and an MP of Bharat Rashtra Samiti put forth their views in the name of opposition. Members of other opposition parties including Congress were not present during the discussion. Opposition parties had walked out of the proceedings of Rajya Sabha. Shipping and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is now responding to the discussion on this bill.

Operation Sindoor will be discussed for 16 hours in Lok Sabha

Operation Sindoor will be discussed for 16 hours in Lok Sabha. Nine hours have been allotted for discussion on this in Rajya Sabha as well. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee. It was also decided in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee that there will also be a discussion on Shubhanshu Shukla’s successful space mission. 12 hours have been allotted in Lok Sabha to discuss the Income Tax Bill.

Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Panel has been reconstituted. Deputy Chairman Harivansh informed about this from the chair and told the Upper House that Rajni Ashok Rao Patil, S Fangon Konyak, Sunetra Ajit Pawar, Kiran Chaudhary, Dr. Sasmit Patra, Dr. Dinesh Sharma, Sandeep Kumar Pathak, Ghanshyam Tiwari have been included in it.

Discussion on Landing Bill begins in Rajya Sabha

Discussion on Landing Bill has started in Rajya Sabha. To start the discussion, Deputy Chairman Harivansh took the name of Congress MP Neeraj Dangi from the chair. However, he was not present in the House. After this, the name of BJP MP from Bihar Shambhu Sharan Patel was taken from the chair. Shambhu Sharan Patel has started the discussion on this bill. The Bills of Lading introduced in Rajya Sabha

Shipping and Waterways Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has introduced The Bills of Lading Bill in the Rajya Sabha. He briefly discussed the provisions of this bill and said that it would prove to be a milestone in the development of Indian maritime. Sarbananda Sonowal said that the Lok Sabha had passed this bill on 10 March 2025. He also appealed to the members of the House to support this bill.
