Jammu and Kashmir Phase 2 Voting: Voting is going on since 7 am in 26 assembly seats of 6 districts in the second phase of Jammu and Kashmir Vidhan Sabha elections. 25.78 lakh voters are casting their votes in this. Voters of Jammu and Kashmir are voting wholeheartedly in the second phase. According to the Election Commission, 46% voting has been done till 3 pm in 26 seats of Jammu and Kashmir. Highest voting of 63.91% took place in Reasi, while lowest votes of 22.62% were cast in Srinagar.
Voting is being held for the first time in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Assembly. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Assembly constituency is a new constituency formed after delimitation and voting is being held for the first time for this constituency.
61.38 percent voting took place in the first phase
61.38 percent voting was recorded in the first phase. The third phase will be held on October 1 and counting of votes will be done on October 8. This time, 93 candidates are in the fray in Srinagar district, 46 in Budgam district, 34 in Rajouri district, 25 in Poonch district, 21 in Ganderbal district and 20 in Reasi district.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said- People are coming out in large numbers to vote. This is history being made.
We are very happy that voting is taking place with enthusiasm in the entire valley and Jammu. People are coming out to vote everywhere, even in those areas where there were calls for boycott. There is enthusiasm among the voters. It is for the world to see how elections can be held in a peaceful, fair manner in Jammu and Kashmir.
