PM’s initiative during the summit
However, earlier Prime Minister Modi had said that he would discuss the priorities of the Global South and important international issues while meeting global leaders at the G-7 summit.
It is worth mentioning that this is PM Modi’s first visit to Canada in the last ten years.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met South Korean President Lee Jae-myung during the ongoing 51st G-7 summit in Kananaskis, Canada. Consensus reached on these issues
During the meeting between the two leaders, an agreement was reached to increase cooperation in many areas such as trade and economy, new and emerging technologies, green hydrogen, shipbuilding, culture and people-to-people contact. Apart from this, they also shared views on regional and global issues. This meeting is being considered an important step to give a new direction to the bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the summit, PM Modi met Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum in Kananaskis. During this, the two leaders discussed ways to further deepen India-Mexico cooperation in trade, pharmaceuticals, science and technology, digital innovation. Along with this, PM Modi and Mexican President Sheinbaum also discussed major global and regional issues including the priorities of the Global South.
