Raipur: Chhattisgarh is set to witness another significant milestone in railway infrastructure as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the newly redeveloped Sarona and Balod Railway Stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme on Friday July 17, 2026 . The development is expected to strengthen passenger amenities while accelerating the state’s economic and infrastructure growth.
During a courtesy meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence in Raipur, Raipur Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Dayanand formally invited Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai to the inauguration ceremony on behalf of Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The meeting also included discussions on the extensive modernization carried out at both railway stations, focusing on upgraded passenger facilities, improved infrastructure, and enhanced station design.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai described the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme as a visionary initiative aimed at transforming Indian Railways into a modern, safe, accessible, and passenger-friendly transport network. He said the scheme would directly benefit citizens while contributing significantly to the state’s overall development.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Chief Minister said Indian Railways is undergoing one of the most extensive modernization drives in its history.
