New Delhi: President Draupadi Murmu on Tuesday October 1 congratulated the citizens of the country ahead of Gandhi Jayanti and asked everyone to take a pledge to imbibe the values of truth, non-violence, love and purity to continuously take the country’s development forward. In a message issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Murmu said, “On behalf of all the citizens, I pay my humble tribute to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 155th birth anniversary.”

The country remembers the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi for his dedication to freedom. Lal Bahadur Shastri also has his birth anniversary on Gandhiji’s birthday i.e. October 2.
