There is good news for crores of farmers waiting for the 18th installment of PM Kisan Yojana. On the occasion of Navratri, two thousand rupees will be transferred to the accounts of farmers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will transfer Rs 20,000 crore as the 18th installment to the accounts of 9.5 crore farmers on Saturday, October 5, 2024. According to the official website of PM Kisan, on October 5, PM Modi will announce the amount during a program in Washim district of Maharashtra. According to the official government website of PM Kisan, it is very important for registered farmers to have e-KYC for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. OTP is the best e-KYC available on the PM Kisan portal. Apart from this, one can contact the nearest CSC centers for biometric based e-KYC.

What is PM Kisan Yojana?

Under the PM Kisan Yojana, an annual assistance of Rs 6,000 is provided to all eligible farmers. The central government has so far released 17 installments of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. The 17th installment was released in June this year. Following the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode, installments are transferred to the bank accounts of farmer families across the country. Under this scheme, landholder farmer families who have cultivable land in their name. Small and marginal farmers with land up to 2 hectares are eligible for this.

KYC is required

Under this scheme, an amount of Rs 6000 is given to farmers annually in three equal installments. To get this benefit, farmers have to fulfill certain conditions. Under the PM Kisan Yojana, all eligible farmers will have to compulsorily complete the Electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) process.
