Pragati College emerges victorious in both the men’s and women’s cat., in the sector-level inter-college badminton competition

The results of the men’s matches on the second day of the inter-college sector-level badminton competition, organised by Pragati College, Raipur, under the auspices of the Higher Education Department, were as follows:

Raipur : Today on Thursday November 20, 2025 men’s match was played between Government Bhakhara College, Dhamtari, and Government PG College, Arang, with Government PG College, Arang, winning 3-0.

The match was played between Government College Dharsiva and Government Gobra Nawapara College, with Government Gobra Nawapara College winning 3-0. The next match was played between Government PG College, Kurud, and Vipra College, with Vipra College winning 3-0.

The next men’s match was played between Pt. Harishankar College and Government Surendra Sai Gariaband College, with Pt. Harishankar College winning 3-0.

The first quarterfinal of the men’s category was played between UTD Raipur and Vivekananda College, in which UTD Raipur won 3-2.

The second quarterfinal was played between Harishankar College and St. Vincent Pallotti College, in which Harishankar College won 3-1. The third quarterfinal of the men’s category was played between Vipra College and Government College Gobra Navapara Rajim, in which Vipra College won 3-0. The fourth quarterfinal of the men’s category was played between Pragati College and Government College PG Arang, in which Pragati College won 3-0.

The first semifinal of the men’s category was played between UTD Raipur and Pt. Harishankar College, in which UTD Raipur won 3-0. The second semifinal of the men’s category was played between Pragati College Raipur and Vipra College, in which Pragati College won 3-0. The men’s final match was played between Pragati College, Raipur, and UTD, where Pragati College defeated UTD, Raipur, 3-0 to win the championship. Pragati College became the men’s champion for the sixth consecutive year.

The women’s final match was played between Pragati College and Government Dub Women’s College, where Pragati College defeated Government Dub Women’s College 2-0 in straight sets. Thus, the Pragati College women’s badminton team captured the championship.

Aarti Sahatia and Rakhi Sahu performed exceptionally well in the women’s category, while Om Basak, Aman Yadav, A.D. Ashish, and Likhit Ojha from Pragati College captivated everyone with their performances in the men’s category. Following this, the Raipur Sector women’s and men’s teams were selected, which will participate in the state-level competition to be held at Government College, Konda Village, starting November 28th.

Present on the occasion were Dr. Vishnu Srivastava, Prakash Bandravashi, Dr. Karmishtha Sambharkar, Pyarelal, Vijay Sharma, etc., worm officers, and Pragati College’s Assistant Professors Dr. Ashish Srivastava, Bharat Sahu, Bhuneshwar Yadav, etc.
