Strictness has been imposed after cash was recovered from Ali Ahmed, son of mafia Atiq Ahmed, in the jail. Now Ali will be kept in the ‘hanging house’ high security cell of Naini Central Jail. This cell is far away from other barracks and is monitored 24 hours a day.
Naini Central Jail of Prayagraj is considered very strong in terms of security, but questions were raised on its security when DIG Rajesh Srivastava recently conducted a surprise inspection of it. During this, when the barrack of Ali Ahmed, who is lodged in the jail, was searched, cash was recovered from him. Ali is the son of mafia Atiq Ahmed. He is also an accused in the Umesh Pal murder case.
There was a stir in the jail administration when cash was found from his barrack. After which, Deputy Jailor Kanti Devi and Jail Warder Sanjay Dwivedi deployed in security were suspended. Along with this, instructions were also given for departmental inquiry against both. Not only this, after the recovery of cash, the jail administration has taken strict action and decided to shift Ali Ahmed to a high security cell.
It is said that this high security cell is far away from other barracks. It is also called the barrack of ‘Phansi Ghar’. Talking about its security, CCTV cameras are installed all along its route and four security personnel and some numberdars are on duty here 24 hours. It is worth noting that in this high security cell i.e. ‘Phansi Ghar’, the convicts were kept for a day before hanging.
According to the information, till now 14 people have been hanged here. But now after the ban on hanging, this place is used less.
However, some important prisoners are kept in this barrack. Mafia Atiq Ahmed’s son Ali will be shifted to this high security barrack. Let us tell you that Mafia Atiq Ahmed’s son Ali is lodged in Naini Central Jail since 30 July 2022. After the Umesh Pal murder case, Ali’s meeting with other people has been stopped. Only his advocate can meet Ali in the barrack. In this barrack, Rs 1100 cash was recovered from Ali, after which this action was taken.
