Janjgir Champa.: Pradhan Mantri Saur Sujala Yojana is proving to be a boon for hundreds of farmers of Janjgir-Champa district. Farmers often had to face drought for agricultural irrigation, but due to Pradhan Mantri Sujala Yojana, farmers have become worry free for irrigation, and now Kharif crop cultivation has been completed before time.
Girbal Singh Sagar, a progressive farmer from village Katghari in Akaltara block, about 40 km from the district, told Doordarshan News in an interview that earlier there was a lot of problem of irrigation in farming, the crop yield was not good as per the hard work, because the fields were in the plain area and there was more problem of irrigation. Ever since I got the facility of Pradhan Mantri Saur Sujala Yojana, about 4 acres of my field is now getting water easily for irrigation. Farmers are very happy due to getting water for free through the scheme.
